Thanks Don..you offer us the chance to totally out do Rekordbox and Serato. The square wheel merchants will still put down the all conquering video DJ's but they will lose.
I'm a little out of my class here but so what ? Atomix and Don appear not to have worked well together yet Don's software is their ace card. There is a problem with respect to the master visual effects which I think has been crashing my laptop. It might be as simple as visual effects such as Don's need to run as a master effect and not, I repeat not as a "deck master" effect. Anyway if there is a problem it would benefit Atomix to help and work with Don..all of us would benefit.

I'm back on the last version of VDJ8.2 but those visual effects which need to, or would benefit from running as a master effect are now in the master effect drop down. I feel as if I'm getting somewhere..we shall see.

Ron... we're already testing the 64bit version of TellyVisuals…. 8.2 is so far behind that you're doing yourself a disservice by NOT sticking with the upgrade and figuring out what is giving you headaches. it uses less resources, sounds better, and does so much more.
and yes there was the deck issue.. but instead of complaining and rolling back - why not join the dedicated facebook group, post in the TellyVisuals comments on the plugin's dedicated thread, or even better - ask directly?
honestly I run it every single night as master effect with TellyMedia playing the promotional video and still and it works just fine with 2018.

It's hard for me Wildcountry..I'm in the thick of it, I suspect you have a more sympathetic crowd. They did not like my VDJ logo. I cannot afford to make mistakes. I'm surrounded by loads of highly competitive large venues. I'm still flying the VDJ flag in the heart of Serato country. I ain't going down.
I heard you and am thinking..yes I need to know more about Don's software.

as for the seraturd fanboys - every club that tried to compete was using that and we crushed them. we no longer have competition. the last few that tried all tried to use VirtualDJ because WE were using it.

More local with much less competition..not just a couple of clubs to be crushed. I'm in quite a famous place in a famous city and tourists come from all over the world. Just in the square there are 6 large competing venues and nothing else. Up all the side streets there are many more venues and some big famous clubs. It's not as big as London or New York but is almost equally famous.
I'm thinking you have a local customer base..and are not a tourist hotspot.
Plus we have students from 2 universities (plus two more on the outskirts).
The city is also a student hotspot.

Technically I think we are well behind the USA. The uptake of video is more common in your country. Having said that a new venue in the square has 37 screens, a combination of large TV's and projectors but they don't use them very well. This will change.

aside from the locals, we get the military crowd from all over the country - whether they're stationed there or just on temporary duty, we get soldiers from all over the world who use the base for training (the Netherlands, U.K., Canada, Germany, Norway, South Korea, Australia... and some of them have permanent contingents … I've had to use Google Translate to have Happy Birthday in many languages stuck on a notepad on the desktop so I can copy and paste to screen after adding names to it)…. so yeah I guess you could say we have a LOT of tourists and a very diverse crowd who are almost never a static piece and they have plenty of options to go to for smaller bars and clubs for other genre's but we play pretty much everything when we break away from the country music.

Things just feel so much more stable with Tellyvisuals clearly running as a master effect.
When I ran vdj2018 the master effects looked messed up. I decided to return to vdj8.2 and reinstall all the effects and of course reinstall vdj. Before this I deleted all the old effects so I had a fresh start.

I suspect tellyvisuals is being pushed out by Atomix. It is not included in the control panel addons tab in vdj2018? It looks like they don't want other software running as a master effect. This might be because of stuff like displaying what the DJ is doing on screen..and that's a daft idea. I don't want stupid kids saying "he used the sync button". However I do want to communicate with large crowds and promote my venues which is were tellyvisuals is helpful. VDJ2018 is looking like a kids toy. Anyway a workman like stable 64bit vdj can't be far away but it also needs 64bit plugins. Put another way I've not bought 20,000 music videos to play shaders..I do not even want them.

I've been running the public builds of 2018 at the club since last year and the updates have all been fine - and yes I do test the hell out of them before installing in the club's computer - 6-7 hours of non-stop video with TellyVisuals running the entire time.
the 64bit version of both are testing well together.
live in the stone ages if you want. the rest of the world is about a decade ahead.

I'd be delighted to get 64 bit vdj2018 running stable alongside 64bit tellyvisuals and tellymedia ? Where do I get Don's 64 bit software?

things to note: the big words BETA on each. tho 64bit VDJ is a solid beast on any of the machines I've tested it on the word 'beta' is still there - but there are guys regularly gigging with it.
TellyVisuals that works with 64bit does not have TellyMedia. Don has said that it is most likely going to be going away and it's functions included/incorporated into TellyVisuals along with a whole lot more that it will be capable of.
but... I've had the latest build running non-stop with Shader as background for chat panels, for video source, with incoming images and text from Twitter... and it is MUCH sharper and smoother than with the 32bit.
as for donations... I only wish I could fully fund Don for this. for all that it has done for me at the club to make my life easier, the customers happier, and by extension the boss upstairs... I have continued to donate as much as I could over the last few years to help things along.

Video won't play on my old old laptop using 64 bit but skins do !
Maybe I need win 10 64bit pro updates? This laptop is not often used.
Anyway next up is a 3rd gen 2.8ghz i5.

VDJ 64bit works ok but when I install Tellyvisuals4 the music videos reduce to quarter screen top rh corner.
