I clicked on update right before a gig last night. Then all Hell broke lose. Now when I load a song/video/karaoke to the opposite deck that is not playing, a high pitch noise goes off and crashes the system. I can play on one deck or the other, but not both. And it isn't every time. Any suggestions on what the problems are and the steps I should take? Thank You!!

Not heard anything like that before... odd.
Does the controller crash as well? like light drop out, 2nd deck stop working?
Seen some users report issues on other forums, Facebook etc. For example https://www.google.com/search?q=ddj-1000+deck+freeze+site:forums.pioneerdj.com
Try set the driver latency buffer to 256 or so.
And make sure you have the very latest firmware and drivers.
