remap your spacebar to do nothing or change it to do something else. I always remove keyboard settings like this.

That's because it's mapped to play/pause by default, so it's really what it's supposed to do :)
But you can remap it to whatever you like - or remove the mapping - or disable all keyboard mapping
The choice is yours
