Topic: Question about hot cue points color
When i make a new hot cue point on track, they are automatically assigned colors for each point. For example hot cue point 1 is red, 2 is orange etc. Is it possible to change default colors?

setting nonColoredPOI for options

other than that you can hardset the colours with script as you set/call the hotcue

In order to be precise, they are not assigned ANY color at all.
VirtualDJ will automatically put a color on the first 8 hotcues if they are not assigned any color, based on the "nonColoredPoi" setting.
If you change that setting, you can change how VirtualDJ treats hotcues that have no color assigned.
However if you manually assign a color on a hotcue, VirtualDJ will respect it.

Finally, no, you cannot create a color scheme of your own to be used instead of the options provided on "nonColoredPoi" setting

Thank you for answers. I hope that in future updates they will add the ability to customize their colors for each point when creating it

you can right now with script, for example change your hotcue 1 button to

hot_cue 1 & cue_color 1 'yellow'

Hmm, seems it works only with controllers, i need to remap it with script?
Actually I usually set cue points at home, using laptop and Vdj skin's buttons.

how do you think the skin buttons set cues...?
Script, it's pretty much all script to do anything unless it's a popup window.

Locodog is suggesting that you modify the Hotcue padpage with the Pads Editor, adding the extra script to each button, (Push Action, tab) to create the color scheme you would like for the hotcues.

Once that is done.. (for pads 1-8) your desired color will be set, and displayed, on both the skin and the controllers pads (if the controller has RGB).

Note: you want leave script of the "Color" tab the same, say cue_color 1, for the buttons.

Unfortunately it doesn't work well. If I change color from padpads editor, it changes ONLY pads color, not Hot Cue points color. So, for example, pad 1 can be allways green, but cue point 1 on wave still will be red. And that creates a lot of confusion. Or am i doing something wrong?

I cannot reproduce the waveform hotcue, say continuing to be red for hotcue 1.

using locodogs suggested script for the hotcue 1,

hot_cue 1 & cue_color 1 'yellow'

(changing the script, then clicking away to say pad 2, then back again)

a subsequent hotcue 1 created either from the skins padpage or the pad of the controller..
creates a yellow hotcue everywhere,
1) the controller,
2) the skins padpage and
3) the waveforms hotcue.

When one sets the specifically sets a color for a hotcue, it overides any color schemes.. set by the setting: nonColoredPoi

you can also verify with the POI editor, checking, hotcue 1's color .. and it should be yellow.

It works, thanks!
