I use VDj for karaoke use and use the option within the karaoke side list where you can get it to play songs from the automix or side list in between singers. It works great but I hoped to also select a folder of videos which could play between singers/karaokes. I have tried most options but it plays the video music and displays a small still image, but wont play the mp4. Is there a way of enabling this?

Guessing you mean mp4 as visuals (no audio) ; in Karaoke options, set background to video output
You can then use the Slideshow as source for audio only tracks , and select a folder of mp4's to use as video visuals when the automix is playing audio files.
When karaoke is playing, the above will stop
(if you just want to play music videos as mp4 files, simply put them in automix and select video output as background to karaoke)
