Topic: Making mixes smoother through stems
Dearest Virtualdj team,
Happy Sunday. I'm very determined to start using stems but I need guidance through it.

1. How do I download Stems. From my understanding via the online tutorials, there is a stems folder in Virtualdj but after looking intensely I cannot find it. Do I have to download it through the extensions?

2. How do I use Stems? My hotcues are extremely important and enables me to use Virtualdj effectively so I don't want Stems to interfere with my hotcues pads set up. During my experimentation I downloaded an extension called 'hotcues and stems'. Unfortunately this messed up my bpms for some reason but I managed to retrieve them.
So could I use stems on my equalizer and how does this work on my layout? Does stems sit beside my volume controls? Do I have to program stems on particular tracks similarly to hotcues for tuning out certain lyrics or bass? I'm just asking because I actually have no idea how stems work and I'm eager to discover and learn more. I've spent many years and months programming my hotcues so I'm hoping stems wouldn't be too much work.

Hope someone can support me. Thank-you

1. You don't download Stems/Stems 2.0. it's built into the software.

2. You READ the manual and watch the tutorial videos. The videos at the tutorial section at the top of Options and the many youtube videos users have made

https://www.virtualdj.com/manuals/virtualdj/index.html

And it is STRONGLY recommended you read and understand the new system requirements and ESPECIALLY the new recommended system specs for using Stems 2.0

IF you read the manual you will understand. the stems folder isn't a physical folder - it's for prepared stems files. which you won't need if your computer can process stems 2.0 in real-time.

and you DO have to be using the current software ( www.virtualdj.com/download ) since older versions do not have Stems 2.0
