Topic: What Do I Call Myself?

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

I use atomix to mix tracks together, and record the mixes onto minidisc as I am mixing. ( My pc is connected through my seperates system ).

But am I a dj? As i prerecord my mixes onto minidisc and never do it live.

IMO it doesn't matter what you call yourself. What's more important is what others call you ! The most important thing remains the fact that you enjoy what you do.

Several users call themselves MPJ (MP3 - DJ ?) I quite like it...

I think it is more for "mp3 jockey" rather than "mp3 disc jockey" :)

So... I mix with both Atomix and real MK2 turtables... Am I a DJ, a MP3J or a MPJ ? Maybe a VMPDJ (Vinyl & MP3 Disc Jockey ) ? ;-)))

Or there is always the Digital Disc Jockey.. DDJ.. I once thought I had VD once.. that was scary..

PCDJ....thats a good one

yes but PCDJ is a trademark :) (Tm)

LOL, i love this forum, it's so funny, it is actually interesting who we are DJ's or I don't know Cyber DJ (CDJ), whatevr name could be used to call us, the main thing is that we can do much better remixes then "DJ" who uses only CDs in the parties....

Dams.. how about MPPCDCMBATIUVWPCJ which of course stands for: M-Peg, Personal Computer, Digital Cyber Media But Alot of Times I Use Vinyl When Playing at Clubs Jockey. What do you think.. kinda rolls of the tongue.

Saint_James you found the solution ! You're the king of this topic !! ;-))

Awesome.. what do I win?

The right to be called MPPCDCMBATIUVWPCJ. However I prefere Saint_James.

SO far i think DDJ is the best, caus when you say it people know you are a dj but ask about the other d bit, this is the problem caus then you say " I mix mp3s with my computer and record them onto cd or minidisc "

Then people start to think you are a bit of a nerd if you ain't doing like gigs with decks. Its ok if they have heard some of my remixes caus it soon changes there mind!!!

OK well if you are using the computer then you wouldnt really trully be a "disk" jockey, i prefer EJ(electronic jockey).

KOZY

how about CJ, like computer jokey, or cyber jokey,

CJ sounds too much like a name...

Maybe you should call yourself Rob.....
