What was the method to resize the skins again. I am intrested in doing this.

Take the width of the skin you want to convert to, and divide by width of existing skin. Do the same for the height.
Use this ratio to resize skin.
Example:
(to go from 1024x768 to 800x600)
800 / 1024 = 0.78
600 / 768 = 0.78
Multiply all existing x and y coordinates by these ratios to give you the coordinates for new skin. You will also have to do some manual adjusting by 1 or 2 pixels as you go along.
