Hello
Is there a quicker way to relocate a Virtual Folder instead of right click and choosing Move Up Or Move Down? If I want to move it all the way up, close to the top I need to repeat the process about 20 times till it gets to my top of the list.

Hi, there is a way to sort the Virtual Folders in the XML File. For example you have three folders named
test1
test2
test3
Search for them in the xml file (database).
<VirtualFolder Name="test1" Order="3">
</VirtualFolder>
<VirtualFolder Name="test2" Order="4">
</VirtualFolder>
<VirtualFolder Name="test3" Order="5">
</VirtualFolder>
All you must do is to change the order number:
<VirtualFolder Name="test1" Order="5">
</VirtualFolder>
<VirtualFolder Name="test2" Order="4">
</VirtualFolder>
<VirtualFolder Name="test3" Order="3">
</VirtualFolder>
Result:
test3
test2
test1
Note, VDJ must be closed to edit the xml file. First make a backup of the xml file.

That only works well if you only use files on 1 hard drive and are only editing the 1 XML file. Remember there is a database XML file for each drive and if you create a virtual folder depending on what you add to it will create the appropriate reference in that respective database XML file.

uuuuhhhhh i have asked for this a few times previously ....can somebody write some code such that the virtual folders arrange themselves alphabetically ????
my regular folders are in the hundreds and the virtual folders are probably past a hundred .....sorting them is tedious and trying to remember the locations of all that not realistic
numbering the songs in the playlist ........print out the playlists and virtual folders natively like Traktor ...........providing a stipe for the preview player , remember the recent searches ????????????????????????????????? relocate lost tracks , find and count new trax .....these have to be easy to do they are already out there ....
i'll settle for the alphabetical virtual folders ......... i'll give ya a FREE spinnin rim for yer donut

How about just the ability to drag and drop the folder where you want it?

That would be a lot easier :)

Or maybe even having a short cut on the keyboard would be nice. For example, while a virtual folder is selected Ctrl+up arrow would move it up one or Ctrl+Page Up Move it to the top.

You have resurrected an 11 years old thread for what ?
The ability to drag & drop folders to different locations has been implemented for almost a decade now!
