I have laptop that I'd downloaded to sometime ago. I question is what how can I listen to the 2nd song before being mix in? I currently use only laptop and external specker without anything else.

You either need to two sound cards (E.g: Add a USB sound card to your laptop) or a sound card with multiple outputs such as a dedicated DJ sound card or a surround sound card.
Alternatively, you can use the mono split option, so that left output is master and right is headphones, but this will only give you MONO sound.
