Jose is also the DJ called upon by major Spanish Affiliates around the city and tri-state area for events such as Taller Puertoriqueno's 35th anniversary, Concilio's annual Puerto Rican Day Parade Gala, and Aspira's Annual Gala. In Jose's eyes, he doesn't believe that he has followers or fans. He believes that people follow the music. In his opinion it is the music not himself which that is the attraction of the events. Jose has been quoted to say: "The Star of any Salsa event is not the performers, or the shows that you see, but the Music……The music is the only star of the show. Respect the music you hear. The songs you dance to, listen to, drive to, work out to be the stories of our history, culture and life experiences. The dance should never take precedence over the music". Although Jose has enjoyed a great deal of success over the years as a DJ, he always lives his life by the following motto: "The only way that you will be successful in this business is to remember you can be on top one day and off the map the next…" Jose is a respected member of (NAME) National Association of Mobile Entertainers, The internationally respected Record Pool, Latinos Unidos Record Pool, and a committee member of The Philadelphia Multicultural Affairs Congress (MAC)
