Yep, groovin once asked me if I could help him.
His idea was a tool that could eat a plain textfile with some title and artist names like this

Sinclair, Bob & Gisele - Heart Of Glass (Clean) (Extended) (HD)
Gisele & Bob Sinclar Heart Of Glass
Chromeo - Jealous
Katy Perry - Birthday (Wayne G Anthem Remix)
Miguel Angel Roca feat. Ethernit - Don't Stop
My Crazy Girlfriend - Crazy Stupid Love (Jonathan Pitch Club Mix)
Inna feat. Yandel - In Your Eyes

then search your database for them and create a vitual folder or a playlist out of the result.
As said earlier, this tool is still under development and not finished yet.

But this is how it looks like at the moment

Eventually I find time to get it done...

Little progress though.
I'm about to release an alpha version.

Here is a new screenshot, because I had to remove the other one.

Alpha because creating virtual folders is still on my list.
Creating playlists on the other hand is done and works with VDJ.

There is still a little bug in reading my "big" database and I don't know why at the moment.
All other databases are read just fine with the same lines of code.
Once that is fixed everyone that is interessted in participating on an alpha/ beta test is very welcome.

Suggestions always welcome, but keep in mind, that is not the final version, nor layout.
In fact, everyone that is able to write XAML could "skin" that program to his needings.
The GUI is completely disconnected from the actual sourcecode and logic.

Fantastic!
like it a lot.... well done PatchN, ;-)
will it read / import text only.. or multiple formats?

Since other formats are basically just textfiles (just in another style) currently it only supports .txt files.
But if you get a .doc or .xml just copy the content to a new .txt file and it'll work.

Best results are achieved if the input (that is one line in a .txt file) is near to the format of "artist - title".
But it'll read any other combination (or order) of artist / title too.
Any other characters that are not title or artist will reduce the "match" value significantly.

Nope sorry, haven't found time to investigate a bug im stuck on currently.
Same line of code works on my test machine, but on my productive system I get an error.

Anyone one else working with DEEP or other similar planning sites that have playlists builders that export M3U files of client requests? i've been upset by the fact the VDJ can't just import those files and fill the playlists. the M3U's have clear artist and song fields.... would save me hours every week week

Ps. i've also been unsuccesful in every attempt to download the playlist fixer. after download says that it can't be opened because not everything downloaded?

Wow, nearly a year since I last touched this project but I finally found some time to have a look at it and good news...
one step closer a beta candidate.

Actually, there is an alpha version. If someone is interessed in testing and help me collect some data on performance, match quality and so on.
Drop me a PN and I'll give you a download link.

We are reviewing the Plugin, but we get an error "Settings.xml not found"
Does the exe needs to be placed in some specific folder ? I tried /VirtualDJ and a couple more, but i always get the same error.
Windows 10 if that helps.

Any chance the error comes from the name "settings.xml" instead of "Settings.xml" ??

Yeah, that is a bit "ugly". I'll fix that in an updated version.

Anyway, if that message appears and you click "OK" on the message a 2nd message should pop up asking you if you want to create a default settings file.
Click "yes" and the program should come up.

EDIT: No specific folder needed. The settings file should be created next to the exe.

How does the settings.xml gets involved here ?
How can an application other than VDJ create a settings.xml ?

A bit missleading. Ive fixed the wording in the error message.
I create my own settingsfile.
It is named summonizersettings.xml and will be created by the program
It has nothing to do with vdj settings. It is only for the program itself to store user settings.
