So this is a very new and frustrating issue. Just finished a folder for a gig I'm doing this Friday, went to scan the song in the folder and VDJ shuts down, every single time. Even tried individually scanning them and the same thing. This has never happened before and I did have a new VDJ update very recently. According to the system I'm currently using v8.4-64 b5873.
Any help would be appreciated as I have events coming up in the next few days. Yikes

have you tried a different folder maybe one of the files is corrupted in the folder causing it to shut down

It is all folders. I've tried scanning most of them. Same thing happens.

I can confirm. It's the same on my MacBook Pro.
My Mac scans 3 files at a time, after the first 3 when it moves to the next 3 VDJ crashes. This is on b5873.
I tried several folders with the same effect.
I went back to b5872 and that one works fine.
System Specs;
MacBook Pro 15” 2017, 2.9 GHz Intel Core i7, 16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3 Memory, Radeon Pro 560 4096 MB, Intel HD Graphics 630 n1536 MB, macOS Catalina 10.15.5, 500gb SSD, external WD Passport Ultra 2Tb HD containing Music & Video databases and is formatted NTFS, I use the Paragon plugin with NTFS for Mac.
VirtualDJ 2020 b5872 and Controllers - Denon MC7000, Denon MC6000 MkII (backup).
My Mac scans 3 files at a time, after the first 3 when it moves to the next 3 VDJ crashes. This is on b5873.
I tried several folders with the same effect.
I went back to b5872 and that one works fine.

Early Access build... 4 songs scanned and crashes every time. oh well... we'll wait for a fix.

I'm having the same problem on a Windows 10 laptop since the 5873 build this morning,
Scanning multiple files is much slower than usual and crashes after 3 files
Windows 10 Home 64 bit, running 64 bit version of VDJ
Intel i7 8th Gen
16Gb Ram
