not really... i have an old tower that i've gradually upgraded - 3.4ghz 6th gen i7, 32gb RAM, RTX 3050 and a MUCH older laptop - 3ghz 4th gen i7, 16gb RAM, 2gb nvdia dedicated graphics card.
both play video flawlessly and neither are top of the line machines. the laptop can't really handle stems 2.0 and takes forever to precompute them but the desktop does them just fine.
