Everything I've read on the internet about asio and wdm is like comparing apples to oranges. Your asio4all method is a good idea but it creates a virtual asio interface from an existing wdm one, therefore if vdj was able to use the wdm driver it should be at least equal in sound quality. However that is a good point, tcv is asio only.

Everything;s set up, but I can't select my console as the ASIO Driver, the drop-down is just empty

Just select the Mk2 as your soundcard in VDJ for 10ms latency, or if you want to tweak it:
1) In VDJ select one input and your default pc/laptop soundcard - close VDJ
2) With VDJ closed, open the Mk2 control panel
3) Set the Mk2 from WDM (default) to ASIO
(I use 48khz 192ms, see what works for you)
4) Still in the Mk2 CP, select External Mixer from the Advanced tab
5) Open VDJ - under config setup for Timecode with ASIO
(you should be able to select the Mk2 now)
