Topic: Sony Vegas Settings....

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

I've just downloaded the Sony Vegas Platinum trial.....I've been trying a few things out....editing vids etc....

When I try to finalise/render the end result....it comes out a bit blocky/glitchy.....not the best picture....

I've tried changing the video settings....best quality etc....but still no joy....

Anybody out there who has mastered Vegas who can point me in the right direction???

I am currently ripping from DVD using DVD Decrypter......then renaming the .VOB files to .mpg......then dragging the files into Vegas....the final result is also an .mpg file.....

Thanks

i use vegas 7 and export my videos to mpeg2. my settings are 720x480, .909 pixel aspect ratio, progressive (gets rid of lines), 6mbps 2 Pass VBR w/ 10mbps maximum.
Audio @ 16bit, 44Khz, 384kbps
all my files work perfect in VDJ. check out some remixes here: http://smashvidz.com/smashvidz/index.php?act=viewCat&catId=22

Is it perhaps a limitation of the trial? I've got the older Vegas 6 and though I don't use em in VDJ they come out perfect every time;^]

D-Twizzle.... nice mashups on smashvidz.com!!!
GREAT WORK

Hey D-Twizzle... nice work mon... (dreadlox here)
luv dem blends

Soon be up and running again mon

yes... Sony vegas 7 does great rendering vids
the settings u use reap great quality

Default MPEG-2 settings should do the trick. I master DVDs with those settings all the time.

I have a video that is rendored at 180mb at mpeg 2... I tried to bring it down even more with avi but it shot up 1g. Using Sony vegas, how can I get this at a lower mb without loosing quality...

it's a 3d video clip that I have been editing.

Now that VDJ 5 R6 has MP4/H.264 native decoding, I now export all my videos to MP4 in Sony Vegas. This will bring the size down by over half and have better video and audio quality than the settings I posted above.

MainConcept AVC/AAC MP4
Custom frame size: (720x544)
Frame Rate: 30
Pixel aspect ration: 1
Variable bit rate: 2 Pass, Max 3.5mbps, Average 2mbps
Audio: 44.1Khz, 384kbps (Super high quality audio)

tested in vdj 5r6 and they work perfect.

heard somewhere that sony vegas.. rendering to mp4.. messes with the black
says.... it is recommended that you render to avi in Sony Vegas.. and then youse Tmpengc Express to convert to mp4..
better quality.. that is what i hear... tested it seems to hold true

Direct from Sony Tech Support........."Sony currently does NOT support .mp4, Divx, h.263 or h.264. You may use any of the codecs provided with the program....."

It seems to LOAD them fine, but if you try to use these codecs to render it will black out a series of frames at about the 2:24:12 mark in the video. When I questioned them about why they wouldn't tell me why, simply said "...we don't support those codecs. Please use one of the codecs supplied with the software..."

I use Movie Studio 8.0c. I don't know if the pro versions come with better codecs or not. I have tried to use the mpg-2 main concept codec but it will not let me change the configuration.

I have aquired a copy of Vegas Pro 7 recently and I am going to load that up this week and see if it has any better codec.

OK... I think your problem is that;
Vegas will load .VOB files when you change the extention to .MPEG or .MPG,
but it dose not work well with them when rendering them.
You will get paused and dropped frames, glitches and blackouts.

You need to get a program (Like "I'MToo MPEG Encoder") to convert your .VOB file
into a True .MPEG2 file, then you can import them into Vegas.

Then your problems should be solved.
