tycoonentertainmentcanada - if you have a fix for the problem, what is the solution? There are alot of people that have had this problem and would be nice to pass the knowledge.

thanks for the info there strech.

But it seems to have stopped. (I mentioned that 4 posts prior) ;)

And the Problem only happens on my HOME station that I use for practice and testing
The club/mobile rig is just fine.

I think the updating Directx cleared the bug but I'll run it while I clean up on thursday just to make sure.

Appreciate the offer but before you spend the money on gas, and be disapointed about it being the wrong comp in the club.

But we can always get drunk and go whoreing again!!!!

I have an update...
the problem with me doesn't occure anymore with any song if i hit the cue button first of e next track to be played. Very strange...auto cue is enabled tho !
Every song runs smooth in automix if I hit the cue button first. But I don't that's the idea.
It should run smoothly in automix.
Can someone who has the same problem test this and back my story up?
I do have disengaged beatlock on switch.

Have you made sure that your DirectX is up-to-date? And if not, update it to the lastest Oct 2006 and see if everything starts working fine.

Marcel, what are the performance settings?

I know that on the rare occasion of my home machine I can recreate the skip when the SAFE MODE is checked and the Scratch Optimize for Quality w/Simple Algorithm is selected. Also, is you Latency in performance set to Auto.

OK, if SAFE MODE is checked then uncheck it.

oooookay turns out it's the nut behind the wheel that needs adjustment.

updated directx to latest and greatest according to microsoft.
updated windows media player to v11 just to be on the safe side.

Sunday is a good testing night because for the first few hours we only have customers for the weekly pool tournemnt on the lounge half of the club.

Here is what happened

Automix still was skipping over songs in the playlist.
Automix still was randomly picking a spot to play in the track when force fade is one and set to 1 second.

Needless to say I was frustrated.

Then I noticed something....

When the songs are within the +/-% range of your pitch selection (+/- 8% for me) the automix functions perfectly, doesn't skip a song or do odd mix in points.

When they are out of range - then the problem starts.

so I can either increase my pitch range while playing pool on sundays
or make pre - programed playlists.

This is kinda frustrating for this situation - beginning of the night - first two or three hours are just background noise and mostly classic/new rock for the pool lounge, And you cannot beat mix rock music. a relay play function is what I use this as. Nothing more

I guess I could always use media player it has a limited crossfader function but this was a major selling point for me back in the VDJ3.4 days. That one worked just fine and dandy

Thoughts?

Marcel - what are the Safe Mode and Overclock settings? And, the Scratch section?

Inviato Tue 23 Jan 07 @ 1:02 pm
Safe mode and overclock are on
Scratch section is set to simple.

Not too sure about that scratch section there. I Don't scratch so I've always had it set to simple.

Uncheck the Safe Mode and Overclock. This is a your desktop system at the club right? Shouldn't need the Safe Mode OR Overclock.

Inviato Wed 24 Jan 07 @ 4:27 am
Acutally both systems are on a desktop - just the one at the club is a small form compy.

I'll try that and test.
Might make some pre-programmed lists as well

I'm going to be doing a swap out here in a little bit

Gonna change the sempron system for a pentium d dual core

and add a video card.

I am familiar with the problem. To me it seems that even if auto-cue is off (which is always disabled when you use force fade) VDJ still jumps to the first cue and mixes out on the last cue. Sometimes the first cue (= first beat of the song when you don't cue manually) is placed in the middle of the song.

Could it be possible that auto-cue can't be disabled with automix, despite force fade? (some sort of bug?)

Inviato Thu 25 Jan 07 @ 1:13 am
Update time.

I unchecked overclock and safe mode
Performance tab is set at fastest
Set pitch range to +/- 34%

force fade enabled and set @ 2 seconds

Set up a playlist for a hour and a half before going to work last night and let it play out in my apartment. Worked like a charm

problem seems to be solved again.
