I have Vista and I was running VDJ 5.0.7 fine with directX 9.0c, then I upgraded to 10 and it doesn't play the mp3's anymore. everything loads up fine, just doesn't move. Is this a problem w vista or do i have to somehow revert to 9.0c

DirectX 10 and 9 are different things and can be used together. When you install Vista, there is no DirectX 9 inside as some older games and some plugins in VDJ won't work. Update DirectX 9 to November 2008 edition. I think there is no DirectX 10 update yet.

As DJ-ALF has said download the DirectX 9 update for Nov 08 and install it.
DirectX 9 and 10 will sit happily together in Vista, with no problems.

now --what kind of mixer can i use to control the video fader? i have to pioneer cdj's and a regular dj mixer?

You can use any mixer or controller that has MIDI option so it can control VDJ.
