I think that U46dj has good sound for club use, you won't hear difference.

ok but i want something for a different sound when i play at home, and a sound card i dont have to buy the whole program for (ex. serato sl-1)

You're not satisfied with your card? I thought that is Pro sound card?

nope! well its cool and all, but not that i got the cash for somethin better, id like to know what is.
and ive noticed that when i record a remix (im a bedroom dj) it doesnt sound as clear as the song i just played, you know?

Why are you thinking the cause of your crashes is your sound card?
Tell us:
how do you record your remix by your sound card?
Of course that sound card is compatible with VDJ!!
Any sound card is compatible with VDJ because you just need to install ASIO driver.

well i record my mixes from my mixer to my laptop, and what difference can i look foward to if i switch from the u46dj to the audio 8
Inviato Fri 28 Nov 08 @ 5:12 pm
You didn't setup your card right maybe, it records ok even on cheaper sound cards.
Inviato Fri 28 Nov 08 @ 5:15 pm
well its not drastic or anything but i know it could sound better

Talking about two sound cards, they are pretty the same.
I think you will not have any improvements if you change your sound card because you are making a bad thing:
conversion DIGITAL->ANALOGICAL going through your mixer and conversion ANALOGICAL->DIGITAL going into your computer.
In my opinion, to get a good sound of your remix, you shouldn't use device which implies ANALOGICAL sound!!
You can overcome this connecting your mixer to your computer by a DIGITAL connection but you can do it just if your mixer has got it!

so how do i do that, but im sure ill get some improvments with the audio 8 though, ex. latency
Inviato Fri 28 Nov 08 @ 5:34 pm
You should connect OPTICAL OUT (S/PDIF out) of your mixer to OPTICAL IN (S/PDIF in) of your computer (or COAXIAL OUT to COAXIAL IN).

In this way you only work with digital sounds; they are surely better than analogical one!
