DJ Staffy, are you running the RMX in WMD mode or Asio mode?
You could try this to get rid of your pops and crackles.
Config>Performance tab, set Preset slider all the way to Fastest, then set latency to Auto (from the drop down) Safe mode and Overclock, unchecked.
Give that a go mate.

If you just use the RMX with no timecodes I would stick with WMD.

I thought asio was for vinyl timecodes only

You can use the RMX without TC in Asio mode, some say this mode is better than WDM, but I've found WDM works better for me.

I run one lappy with my RMX in WDM, and one laptop with my RMX in asio...I have noticed no difference in performance.....

It's all down to your preference really.
But with the RMX, it's good that you can use one or the other.
