Hello Everyone,

I'm looking for someone who is mixing video's professionally with Virtual DJ on a laptop and is completely satisfied with it. Please post as much information as far as model # and Specs. I'm looking to buy my self a new laptop for Christmas and want to make the right choice. I'm A Professional mobile DJ and mix videos in catering halls in NY for weddings corporate parties and family events. I think this would help everyone that views this forum as I was looking for information like this here. This would be a good opportunity for you to show off your hardware. I saw what the requirements are but know that there are problems with certain models of laptops even though they have the right specs. Hello Keivan,

I`m a professional mobile Dj in Portugal, i mix video with my laptop without problems but is very important that your laptop have Windows Vista instaled.
If you use Win Xp with the harware acceleration activated, the video will freeze sometimes (in my case), with Windows Vista i don`t have any problems. i work many hours playing videos (VOB Files) and mp3 (320 Kbps) without problems.

I do nothing but video at my shows. I run sometimes 2 or 3 video plugins at a time without hitch. My laptop is a

Toshiba satellite A205-S5859 with sometimes a controller or timecodes

I agree with having a VISTS os. I have 3 computers that have vista on them and 2 of them have basic video cards. Just make sure you have all the codecs for running all the videos. I found out the last weak that my desk top that I installed in my club didn't have one of the codecs and kept getting the "error" when loaded. So I switched to my laptop. I figured out what the problem was later just before starting but I never use eqp if I just loaded something new to it without practice. Just a precausion!!!
 
I'm a resident in a video dance club where I play 3 nights a week and I solely use VDJ from a laptop (Dell XPX system) with the Numark DMC2 controller. I have had no problems at all. I also run several plug ins and it goes smoothly. But i do always keep a DVD or CD in the conventional players just in case! The only thing I make sure i do on my laptop is make sure the wireless is turned off. You don't want it suddenly doing a windows update and rebooting on you in the middle of a set!

Why don't you turn off your auto update. You can still have it find the updates but not download them unless your ready for it. This will also keep you system from having a mess for you to sort out as well. This happend to me last year and it only affected my video play and not the audio side. I had to bring my computer back to default. Just an idea!
 
I work in a club twice a week to over 2500 thousand people per night.

I am currently about to take the latest model Mac Book Pro Live and I cannot get this thing to crash in any tests using VOB files or mp4.

Audio only it has been running very smoothly for the past 4 weeks now
 
how can u see the screen during the day...kuz ive done a gig during the day i had a hard time looking at the screen..i had to put a big blanket over my computer...im asking this kuz i saw one of yall setup in da day..the one with two laptops..
 
there are skins that have been made for outdoor daytime use, or you can invert the bitmap, i've read that works.
