Twice last night, and on other occasions my VDJ crashed while I had it playing in auto-mix mode - I was absent from the console every time. I dawned on me that it may have been triggered by my screensaver kicking in. Does that sound reasonable?

Yes.. it could be. It's better not to have screensaver enable on ur gig system.
Do have ur crashguard and post it here.

Vista has a nasty feature called UAC...
If screensaver or other program takes focus, other software can freeze, because it always asks/or kind asks, for user input, to allow program to run or not...
Turn off UAC .. :)

OK here is the crashguard from last night: Thread=Main, Dump=8b421451, excode=0000005 (0, 5c,4e)
Does that mean anything to anybody?
