I cant speak for their sound quality Fat but, I like an ear piece I can flip around and just hold up to my ear. Those look to stiff for mixing to me. But everyone is different....
 
I agree with the stiffness. I dont think it has any hinges for foldup. They fit snug on my head but that about it. These defenately would not last in the DJ world just for the fact of taking them off and on again. The sound is good but it would be very high maintainance with the upkeep.
 


They arent really the DJ headset kind. Although they look mighty good... Would be great for a studio I bet ;)

As a DJ i really need them movable ear parts... Technics being a solid favorite of mine ;)
 
I've actually gone back to using the good old HD-25s after breaking both pairs of my Sony headphones in rapid succession. They were the best I could pick up at the immediate time, and I'm actually very happy with them - forgotten how light they are :)
 

yeah, had a few of the sony dj headset too... Really nice ones, but they do break way too easily at the joints. Broken a few pairs, but my current Technics set is lasting me a milage the Sony's can just be envy of ;) hehe
 
Thats exactly where I broke both of my Sonys too ;)

I had a pair of Technics headphones many years ago, used them for a few years and I gave them to another DJ when I hung up the cans for a bit around 2002. Small world, he was resident DJ at a place I started working at two years ago - and was still using them! He's only recently replaced them.
 

hehe, yeah... cant seem to break mine either..
But them sony ones, never again... had 3 of them break at same places... :)

Loving my current technics headset, but will check out the one you use...
 
I seen these at the tech store hear and they sound really nice but like TearEmUp said they don\'t swivel so its tricky if you take them off and on. i personaly am using a cheap set of philips sbc hp430 and they seem to work good for the price :P

I'm still sworn to my Technics though... have yet to see better headset... loving it :)
 
Look more like studio phones to me as well. I was just given a pair of Audio Technica ATH M40fs (frequency response 5 hz - 28 kHZ) studiophones. I'm lovin' em so far, they do have the swivel design but I'm still gonna use them exlclusivly for recording/ studio work. My Sony mdr xd200's are just fine for gigging (but not so great for recording);^]
 
sony v700s are the ones that break? more than the pioneers? lol i though they were less prone... ill see how my v700 turn out, seem pretty sturdy

anyone test the pioneer hdj-2000? damn expensive tho
 

both the pioneers and the sony's are similar built... I've not had pioneers long enough to say if they break (i lost them), but had a few sony's that definitively break easily at the ear joints..

My technics I've had for 2 years running, still rocking ...

Pioneer might be good too, cant say. But as you say, they are damn expensive :)

At a mere $70, these things deliver big results. Sound is well balanced and clear at high SPLs, and for recording purposes the isolation factor is great, very little outside noise coming in & more importantly when recording a vocal track very little sound gets picked up on my Rode NT1A. I highly recommend them both for DJ use and studio use, only reason I only use them for recording is because I don't wanna overuse them & lessen the isolation factor;^]

yeah ;) I've had my technics for a little over 2 years.. and they are as good as new today... ;)
Seeing your post, I guess their gonna rock 2 more years at least...

Good investment :)
 

I've been using the same pair of Sennheisers HD25 SP1 for well over 9 years now (maybe more) I've only had to replace the ear padding twice and the cable once.

Been thinking in getting the newer HD25-1 model next



Quite simple in design, but very robust and loud.
 
i use SHURE over the ear clear buds with a hand cupped over my ear
 
I have had one pair of Sony MDR-V6 for over 20 years. Sure (no pun intended) they do not look as pretty as they once did, but they still work. I use them for my shows....I have a new pair of Sony's for playing out..can't recall what model number though.
