Can someone please advise what is causing VDJ to crash occassionally?

Here is my latest crash report. However, in recent crashes, I have noticed the same excode c0000005 in some of my other crashes.

Any solution for fixing this?

Thanks in advance and Happy New Year!

Sirslick

I believe by external crashes djcel means it's probably a plugin, or possibly an external decoder?

There is only one crash report which is relevant as all others are from older versions and not worth commenting on so you can delete these.

do you use an external midi controller?

Thanks Chrisio and Synystr...

Which crash report is relevant?

I use the Hercules RMX (no midi controller).

The crashes usually happen when I am searching - when I use the backspace key within the search bar.

Any solution to correct this?

Thanks,

Hi. The 5.2.1 reports as you have updated to this version so any previous versions have had the bugs fixed in the main. It may be worth having a fresh install if you hav'nt already. Having said that external crashes can be caused by bad USB cables, connections , harddrives, plugins etc, trial and error my friend. Are you using an external drive? Also go to VDJ config and use the clean facility to check the drive where your musics stored.

hercules rmx is a midi controller. just make sure it has the newest firmware.

Thanx, guys!

I have the latest firmware, but have never done a fresh reinstall. I'll do it now and see what happens.

Yes, trial and error - understand and accept the process but it can be frustrating...

ahhhh the infamous "backspace all the way in the search box" crash!

I have been having that issue too. it does not happen all the time.

Here is what was suggested I do and it has worked beautifully so far...
instead of backspacing highlight a song in the list below the search box and then click back on the search box to clear it out.
Try that for a while and see if you have better results.
