Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

I wanna get a new phone and there are a lot out there . I'd like to get one with a combination of cool factor and practicality ....

having said that , I don't work for a living ... i DJ for a living ... so I don't need what the corporate blockheads use

I would like a camera preferably 3.2 megapixel seems to be the most powerful on phones at the moment ..... email , qwerty keyboard,

touch screen , possibly windows mobile os , not interested in any music features if that means DRM .....navigation ....don't need bluetooth

a phone like that............. i think probably Samsung or Blackberry have what I like

reccomendations??

Hey Chuck, I just bought a BlackBerry Curve 8310 about a week ago. It's a really nice phone. It has a camera, qwerty keyboard and epandable memory to store music or pics. You need to buy the BB data package with the phone. I am gald that I did becuase I can check all my e-mail accounts instantly and reply back from the phone. Check it out. you may like it.

LOL Chuck! It's $30 a month for the data plan. Unlimited text, push e-mail, and Internet. My carrier is AT&T and it works well. iPhone is a nice option as well. Oh and the Giants, well, next year. I hope, lol.

thanks Sonido .....does the iphone have qwerty keyboard?? .......... i think what i am looking for is a really super small laptop ...so the qwerty keys , email , touchscreen and cam are a must .... navigation would be nice also ..... i don't use it for music because of DRM ......

Hello chuck,

Take a look at this sony ericsson, I highly recommend it. U will like it i bet. It's meet your requirement;)

Sony ericsson X1

Regards;)

A mate of mine has the X1 and I have the Samsung Omnia, I would recommend against them both. Windows Mobile is unfortunately a sluggish and badly designed Operating System. If you like using one hand or your thumbs to operate your phone do not get a Smartphone / Pocket PC, the exception perhaps being HTC's offerings.

Things as simple as the phonebook on Smartphones and Messaging have small entries and ideally require a stylus. I have a whole range of software for the Omnia to ease the experience but even then it has several flaws. The X1 has less internal memory (400MB vs 8/16GB), a worse camera (3.2MP vs 5MP) and is a whole lot heavier. However, it does have it's own keyboard which is actually very nice to use.

As per your requirements however, setting up e-mail on Windows Mobile is very easy. I have my Hotmail and University e-mail downloaded to the phone every 15 minutes and it's something I've really found convenient. Connecting the wireless to a corporate environment (WPA Enterprise) is troublesome and not as seamless as the iPhone. With the Samsung you have a range of keyboard installed, Qwerty, Phonepad and Smartpad. Although a nice addition compared to the stylus only Windows Mobile default keyboard, CooTek TouchPal gets a thumbs up from me. I can text quite quickly using it's predictive phonepad layout and switching between layouts works by flicking a finger horizontally.

The iPhone has a very nice touch screen which operates very nicely with using a finger (or two!) or your thumbs. On the Windows Mobile side of things, these touchscreen are still designed around using a stylus. Although the touchscreen usability has gotten better with the Omnia in each firmware revision, the experience isn't as good as on the iPhone.

My Omnia is currently away for repair for the second time since October, and I already had one replacement at the beginning of September. My mate is also using his old Sony Ericsson rather than the X1 because of its better form factor, battery and general usability.

I would suggest the Blackberry Storm I have it and personally love it! It does everything you mentioned and more and I have it synced with my outlook calendar. Just make sure you update to the latest 4.7.0.99 beta OS!

thanks guys , some interesting points ..... i don't use my chocolate lg much cuz really bad "keyboard".... but i got it free !

i have the G1, i used to be a sidekick over and this is a huge upgrade and your looking at the same price :)

Anybody know if there are any phones with built in soundcards, touch sensitive jog wheels , 2 channel mixer and run video on VDJ?

Give it time my friends, give it time...just saw a new video phone that receives satellite tv from xm/cirrius......can cellular Djing be far behind!

well im able of making it possible to mix with two phones where you will be able to change the pitch and sound levels and stuff of each but we are talking about like the iphone and the g1... making 2 players and a mixer on one... kinda hard and not sure if the phone will be able to work proparely without any bugs

Check out the Nokia N95 8Gb, no qwerty keyboard but one hell of a phone :-) I got mine a few months back and absoultyl love it, and you can listen to VDJ Radio with it ;)

.. oh forgot to mention 5 MP camera with carl zeiss lens, better sound then my laptop :s and thousands of free apps

I was looking at that phone first before I got the curve. I was skeptical on the touch screen for everything. How does that work for you? Any problems, glitches. How's texting on it?

The most used thing by far on my phone is the wee led torch.

I personally wud do the blackberry storm...

Well, its the Iphone for me and my other half in a couple of months time, it's just bloody awesome IMO

Well, my Omnia was unrepairable so I'm now on my third handset.. although this one someone elses refurbishment (as far as I'm aware). Windows Mobile 6.5 is rumoured to be out soon (leaked versions already being used by some owners of different brands) and I've read a few positive comments. I may try a hacked 6.5 / Manilla 2D (HTC layout manager) when it's final and available. For now I agree with Jimmy and everyone else who are recommending the iPhone.
