ok, so I got a DN-HS5500 recently and today I wanted to record a nice one hour mix. Well I noticed that after 5 - 10 minutes the DN-HS5500 would stop controlling VDJ, I would still get sound but no more control functions. I tried it out about 6 times and it did it every single time.

The firmware on the DN-HS5500 is up to date.
I'm using VDJ 5.2.1 Pro and my OS Is windows Vista 64 (Maybe the OS is the problem?)

Anybody out there have the same issue?

I had the same problem. I ended up dual booting my Toshiba laptop and using XP for VDJ. Haven't had any issues once I started using XP, which is the recommended OS for most professional audio applications at this time. That being said, it is definetely an issue between the OS and specific hardware - not everyone is having problems with Vista and Vista 64.

Cool man, I'm gonna have to try that. I was already getting bummed that I might have to get rid of my 5500 but I love the thing lol
 
Well I installed vista on one of my laptops and the 5500 worked like a charm! Thanks for the tip man

Now this is interesting?? i have been having the same problems with my HC4500 in native support and using JP's mapper.
I have tried to find the answer but with no luck yet, i only found one other user with the same problem, and he couldn't work it out either!
Trouble is if not many people have these problems then it takes ages to fix them i guess?
Anyway, what i find is when it happens, go to config then remote tab, disable and re-enable your device and it should all come back to life!

Same here lads. My two 5500's work fine on my vista laptop sweet as a nut. But when I try and use them on my iMac (bootcamp windows XP pro) xp craches. So I started up xp with both units in midi, checked the device manager to update drivers and it told me " two same devices connected to xp". Tried to change the 5500's unit number, still the same. Some one out there pleaeeeeese Help.
 
Have you updated the firmware of the 5500's? There was a new update in December, which may help resolve the issue, worth a try.
Sorry, not familliar with Bootcamp at all, don't know how the hardware interacts with the virtual setup. Do they connect OK with the MAC version?
 
Hi ..

Has anyone had dramas with virtual dj 7 with a denon dnhs 5500??? i can connect the deck but then not long after it starts to play up?? and the 2nd deck on the 2 in 1 feature tempo is real fast.... im running vista on my laptop... has anyone had this drama??
