Topic: New VDJ user needing help with the cue function.

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

Hey All,

I'm new to this place and looking for some answers (hopefully) regarding the cue funtion on VDJ. I have searched online for help and on here so pardon my mistake if i have missed the answer already elsewhere.

My issue is that when I'm using VDJ i cant seperate the cue setting to hear one deck through the headphones and one out of the master speakers - as you would be able to when normally mixing. I am using a headphone splitter so can get sound to both my laptop speakers and headphones but sadly it is the same, i think there might acutally be a slight difference but not enough to be able to mix fully.

As yet I dont have any other outputs other than my headphone jack on my laptop - going to an external mixer etc, thou I do have a s-video/audio lead that can connect to my t.v if that would help - even if just for the feature of being able to mix. If I do need to download other software or get another cheap sound card it may be worth it.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

NJ.

You need a cheap USB external sound card in order to Cue (pre-listen) to your next track.

You can config VirtualDJ, so the Master audio out comes out of your internal sound card and the Cue function comes out of the USB sound card.

Thanks Jimmy, thats a great help.

You can also set up yout headphone output to split into 2 seperate tracks. You will be running mono on both your headphones and your external speakers, but it will get you mixing at least. Open VDJ, click on the " config " button to open your VDJ preferences, then click on the " sound setup " tab. On the " inputs " drop down menu, select none, on the " outputs" drop down menu, select headphones ( its a little picture of headphiones and a speaker ) , on the " soundcards " drop down menu, select mono spererated. Just below that is a drop down to select your internal audio card, and finally at the very bottom, you see that you can select to either have your right channel as master output and the left channel as your headphone monitor, or vice-versa. I hope this helps in getting you mixing ! Cheers ! Will K., Florida USA
