recently got a new compaq laptop with vista home premium and everything is running fine, however when I am listening to the music usually every minute or so I hear a slight "glitchy-like" pause in the track. I disabled pretty much all of the anti-virus applications and it still does it. The laptop came with norton security but I feel like its something else. HELP! lol
also it is Virtual DJ limited edition (came with the mixer) but it seems like a small issue that can be fixed.

What sound card are you using, and what are the settings in performance?
Inviato Thu 12 Feb 09 @ 9:37 pm
whatever soundcard is in the laptop, but i have behringer speakers that the music plays out of. so i dont know what to do. I had this installed on my main computer and i never had a problem (as far as the glitch/hesitation goes). The glitching is not as bad when i hardly touch anything or click on anything, but when I have to open something it happens almost every 15-20 seconds so its weird

What does it say in VDJ>config>performance?

I dont know how to get to the configuration because I have the Limited Edition, unless you know how.

It's probably software or driver misbehaving, coupled with the fact that inbuilt laptop cards are rather crap for this kind of thing.
Checking your DPC Latency will probably reveal issues.

disable wifi , set all power mgmt settings to never , disable windows firewall
at the top of the general discussion topics are stickies .... topics that don't go away ..... click on "selected guides"
if you disable windows firewall get a good AV ....... i recommend you live a little and forget norton and mcdonalds' er mcafee and get trend micro or zone alarm or alwil .... alwil is free
no matter how new it is your C: is a sloppy mess , defrag it .... won't fix the the DPC problem , but it never hurts
i've never had the LE but doesn't it have the config at the top right ??
