Hi DJ Renee,

I'm sure this is stating the bleeding obvious, and won't help, but since it occured to me I'll just ask anyway to rule it out...

... Just to make sure, what are you using vdj on? Most modern laptops and pc graphics cards have a VGA output port for a second monitor. Are you sure you definately don't have that option on your PC/laptop?

Paul, to quote DJRenee from another topic...

Ok... good question now let me confuse everyone. In the venue where I normally work it's not possible to have my desktop in the same location as most everything else. So I have to use one of these to extend the monitor, mouse, keyboard.

So.... my primary display is running VGA (See Adapter) and I'm left with S-Video out.

My video (Projector) has ALL the inputs needed but I'm using it's S-video plug. Perhaps the best thing would be for me to dump the S-Video totally and run all VGA? (Rick said it was better)

At this point I'm about ready to tell the other club to dump the HD monitors and get two cheap TV's with S-Video /RCA in or forget it! LOL
No really, should I change the whole thing?

Well actually you are left with either S-Video or DVI which can either convert to VGA using another one of those DVI to VGA adapters you currently are using or you can go DVI to HDMI. The video card drivers don't care if you send the second output to S-Video port or the second DVI port. If your projector accepts HDMI or DVI then I would go with HDMI output and HDMI splitter to feed all your devices. If your projector doesn't have an HDMI port but, has a DVI port then just get a DVI to HDMI adapter.

Ok.. my projector doesn't have "all" the inputs needed just S-Vid, RCA, and VGA. But I think we are getting somewhere, you are saying I can use the other DVI port. (Didn't know that) Thanks for staying with me here.

So I would need to need a DVI to VGA cable/adapater from the video card which would go to a VGA distribution amplifier that can support my projector, and the two monitors and everything would be VGA...

Yes, you can use the other DVI output instead of the s-video. You can try this. Just be careful, you may have to switch which one is your monitor and which one is to the TV.

Dang it Man & His Muszak..... there were 21 things there to choose from, it takes me 2 hours to decide on (1) pair of shoes.

Seriously though I looked at the page and I didn't see anything based on what I think I need on that page.

I have to support (3) monitors.

Pick one of those cables from that first link, and then go into one of these. This will support 4 TVs.

HDMI Splitter?.... the only connection that all three of my projectors/Monitors have in common is VGA.

VGA splitter is here. You can get a DVI to VGA cable from the same place. Sorry if I misunderstood you.

All righty then I think I'm good to go. I was able to test the projector using the other DVI port as folks suggested by using the DVI to VGA converter I already had. It worked perfectly and required no changes in the video card.

I did some comparison shopping on VGA Video Splitters and checked out the company MP3Rick showed, they have really good prices especially for cables so I'm ordering from them. I will be saying good-bye to s-video completely.

Thanks to everyone who answered, I know a lot more about connections (DVI/HDMI/VGA) than I knew before. Hopefully I'll be able to assist someone who needs help in the future. It great to have all the tech support available in the VDJ forum and I don't have to call someone India!

Thank you all!
