I know this has probably been asked a thousand times and that there are as many answers but after a lot of searching and reading through reviews i finally decided to just ask.
Basically, its finally come round to the time when i've got to buy my own equipment because i've been borrowing off other people for the past few years i've been DJ'ing since theres no point in having loads of bits of kit floating round if its the same few people using it.
Anyway, basically i'm looking for advice on which Virtual DJ/ Tractor compatible controlller to get for ~£150-200 mark. Up till now i've used VDJ with a Numark Virtual Vinyl setup and also a Hercules MKII console. Obviously my budget doesn't stretch to a virtual vinyl setup which would be ideal cause i liked it alot so that leaves me with the all-in-one controllers like the BCD-2000/3000, MKII Console and Numark Total Control.
I liked the MKII and the different mixing options for the headphones it offered which made the DJ'ing process easier but it felt kinda cheap and tacky (it could just be me) and on the other hand the BCD 2000/3000 has lots of configureable buttons which would mean less diving back to the mouse but i just don't know if either is better than the other for one thing or another etc...
....and really i'm just looking to know what'd be the best from those or any others? (very preferably with intergrated soundcards)

My suggestion would be look at the Hercules RMX Controller. it is slightly over your budget but it offers a midi control interface - built in sound card and the ability to hook up timecodes if you wanted to add them at a later date.
Hope that might help you....

I was looking at the RMX as well, i'd kinda discounted it based on price and not looked too much further but it seems to be a good mix between the MKII which i'm used to and the increased functionality of the BCD 2000/3000 not too mention the adjustable jog wheel tension if i read right which was one of my pet hates on the MKII's (the wheels were so sloppy if your setup got knocked even slightly then they'd be all over the place).
I think if i'm gonna get something i may as well do it properly and not have to come back a year or two down the line and grab what would more likely than not be the RMX then instead of now...besides its only the difference between my order costing as near as matter £300 and £200 swapping the controllers out so i'll probably go with the RMX.
Thanks for the help.

If you are going to "do it properly" (your words) might I suggest buying this wonderful software? If you have bought it then why not register your serial so you can have access to lots of other goodies.
On the controller side I would check out the Vestax VCI-100! I have it and love it!

Now you're gonna acuse me of piracy?...really?....i went halves on it with the person i was DJ'ing with at the time, he's gone to do his own thing so he gave me money for my half back and all was said and done.
I'll look into the controller you suggested though, thanks.

If you are to scratch :
- Vestax VCI -100
If you are a non scratch dj
- Hercules RMX
- Numark Omni

I think its going to be the RMX, i don't / can't scratch well so thats not a major thing for me. The Vestax looks a nic epiece of kit and i'm sure it works well but it doesn't grab me as the one to get.

Another plus side of the RMX is it comes bundled with VDJ software so you register a serial number - yeeeeaaa!!
