Topic: Apple G4, OSX 4.6, VDJ 5.0. CAN THIS WORK?

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

I just bought a pair of turntables and I'm desperately trying to hop on the virtual dj bandwagon. I have an apple G4 laptop with the os 4.6. I also have vdj 5.0. I just wanted to know if this can work. I was going to run bootcamp or parallel to get windows on my computer. Will either of those programs help? Also what kind of soundcard is needed to get going. And also do I need a mixer with a usb port to connect to the laptop? If anyone can answer my questions I would greatly appreciate it. Anything to help me get started would help. Hope to hear from you soon.

Peace.

Hi syren,

This are the recommended system requirement on mac.

Mac OSX 10.4.7 or higher
Mac/Intel Core Duo 2.0 GHz or higher
1 GB RAM of higher
200 MB free on the hard-driver

Minimum system requirements on mac.

Mac OSX 10.4 or higher
G4 1.5 GHz or Intel Core Duo 1.6GHz
512MB RAM

Also pls register ur serial to update to the recent version v5.2.1.

Regards;)

So long as the specs meet the minimum requirements it should work.

Bootcamp is a potential option - i wouldn't advice Parallels to run VDJ at a gig - it will work but as it would share resources with the Mac OS it wouldnt be advised.

If you wanted to use Timecoded vinyl you would need an external soundcard - have a look on these forums for your best options, the Maya seems a popular choice at the moment If you have the external soundcard you wouldnt need a USB mixer.

If you have VDJ please register your serial.
