Number 1: Why anyone is still keeping all of their music and running their VDJ from the same hard drive amazes me. External Hard drives are so affordable today why take the risk of loosing everything. That being said, the Sony machines are good boxes. Currently I'm using two lappys, one Gateway (XP), one Toshiba (Vista Home Premium). My desktop is custom made and furnished by my day job furnished, so its all good. No issues with VDJ on any of them......

You're in the states ... Best Buy, Office Depot, etc have external harddrives. As far as how big of a drive you need that depends on how much space the music is currently taking up on your computer.

just a question... the database is on the comp or on the external? so if i use 2 machines with vdj itll be ok?
and if i move all my music, will it keep the cues, bpms, etc?

i only have an external hard drive to back up my music now adays... all my performance and set are straight from my laptop. I only use my comp to run dj software so i see no reason why i would not have my music on my laptop

Teary's right.... you are making your C: do much more than it has to ... we're not saying it doesn't work , we're saying it's not an ideal solution
also you have sense enough to have a back up .... many people don't , so when they lose the C drive they lose all the music plus windows , truly stupid at the current prices for external drives
