ive posted this here because im unsure if this is Specific to the VDJ software. i was mixing tracks (as you do) and found one of my old cds which i havent ripped yet. put it in my cd drive and let it spin up. instead of clicking the actual cd drive i clicked the little + next to it. an error popped up saying network drive not available. didnt think much of it till i came out of vdj and went to rip the tracks. my cd drive had vanished.
windows media, same problem Battle field 2 . . . please insert your cd into a drive!
couple of reboots later checked the bios
no atapi device listed anymore . . . Now im starting to panic a bit!
Flashed my bios to latest version . .. no joy. tried several fix's (regediting filters ect) humm. did vdj really just get my laptop to bend over and take it for a ride??
couple of reboots later thought sod it. ill fix it in the morning
turned on my pc and my drive was back as if nothing had happend WTF. listed in my comp, BF2 works and Windows media now plays it!
any ideas what caused it and more importatly what fixed it?
its an acer 7720 v1.45 bios (well it is now! was 1.17)
