Hey guys. Hope you're all well.

I just bought a new laptop running vista. Can I just copy my XP database over from my desktop system (usual gig setup) to my laptop?

If so, where should i copy it to?

Cheers...and keep spinnin'...:o)

Do you use a external harddrive to store your file's on. If you do then your DB will be on the drive. You don't have to do anything. I didn't when I went from XP to Vista.

VirtualDJ will see it.

Ok...that seems to be good...but do i need to re-analyse all my tracks?

Cheers...(",)

No mate,

As long as your DB is on that drive with your files (which it should be) everything should be fine and dandy mate.

Hmmm. Sorry to be a pest mate, but are you sure?

I originally copied my DB over and that was a bit useless, so this time i deleted it altogether from my external hd, started up vdj again and reconnected the external.

Then i closed VDJ down to save the db, opened it back up again and my tracks are there, no bother...but there's no bpm, key or length...ah...wait a minute...i'll check my ID3 tag settings to see if i've disabled them.

Nope, seems my ID3 tags are ok.

Read ID3 Tags is enabled
ID3 Artist/Title is disabled. My tracks are all Artist - Title.mp3
ID3 Comments is disabled.

Did i miss summink?

Also, when i go into config and into the browser tab, my F drive (external) clocks 1243 files. This drive alone has 13 - 14,000 music tracks on it, a few thousand karaoke tracks and 1 or 2 thousand video files!!!

Seriously, did i miss summink??!?!?!?!?

In the browser tree, Right click on that drive (f drive) and choose add to search DB.

What do you get now.

No difference. The BPM's etc are still not there.

I've created a favourite from each folder, Music, Karaoke and Videos. Now when i search the drives using Vista search (as opposed to VDJ) search, there's nothing there???

I see you are in the UK, give me a ring mate, it's alot easier than doing it in the forum.

I'll PM my phone number to you.

Jimmy handing his phone number out again!! Just make sure you get the cheap rate one and not the premium number!! lol

Hello,

I upgraded VDJ from a 1.06 version (with Hercule console) to a brand new 5.xx. with Hercule MK2 console.

Is there a solution to upgrade my database?

Thank you by advance for your help.

Kind regards...
