I've downloaded the demo version but it doesn't seem to be able to read MP3s and I'm not sure about videos. Has anybody else had this happen?

Not to my knowledge...did you select the correct file/drive in the music browser? Have a look at the users manual here is a link for it http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/PDFManuals.html

Thanks, I'll take a look and see if there's anything wrong. Actually, I meant to say that it wouldn't read MP3+Gs instead of MP3s.

i think this might be what your looking for, to the right of the search bar in browser there appears to be two circles similar to bullseyes, choose the right one and in the drop down window select karaoke this will show your files.

Thanks, didn't even see that before!
What seems to be happening is that it'll see the karaoke file folder on my desktop but doesn't recognize MP3+Gs. I scanned the list of codecs under config and I don't see anything that's for karaoke. Where do I get the codec and where should it go?

You don't need a codec ... and are your files MP3+G separate or zipped?

you don;t need anything special.
D/L a free software called Audio Grabber.
place your Karaoke Disc in your drive and ripp the karaoke songs to a folder. the songs will be in 2 parts - Mp3 and Grafics file - don;'t wory about it just don;t delete anything.
open VDJ find the folder in the browser and the songs will be listed - and have fun.

Not zipped. I'm using Audio Grabber with Lame and it looks like I need to rip to CDG + Compressed File. Thanks everyone for helping me out. Is there's any tips about using music videos or powerpoint presentations?
