Topic: New to the gang here

I just bought a new laptop and i also have a mk2
my OS is windows vista home premium
everything installed fine but when it came to starting up vdj
i get "Directx sound driver error"
any remedies ....and again thanks in advance

You need to make sure the VDJ sound settings are correct for your external unit, I'm guessing that it's a Hercules. Go to (top right corner of the VDJ program) "Config", "Sound Setup" tab..."Input" should be "None"..."Output" should be "External Mixer"..."Sound Card" should be on "2 Cards". "Output Channels" "Left Deck: Chan. 3&4/Right Deck: Channel 1&2" or reversed depending on your speaker set up. In the "Remote Control" tab make sure you have your unit selected, if it is the Hercules, click the "Hercules Device", tick "Activate", then close out the whole window.

My son has the Herc RMX and I think this is how I set it up last time. Can someone else corroborate my instructions on this procedure?

This needs sorting as people think theres something wrong with their installs plus I get pissed off with it when I'm using VDJ without RMX plugged in.

I'll say what I've said many times before: PCDJ managed it back in 2001 why can't VDJ?

It simply means the current set soundcard and soundcard setting in VirtualDJ is not logic, or soundcard not present.
This happens if you start VirtualDJ with a previous different soundcard setting, that will not work when you restart VDJ, for example because the soundcard is not connected

The fix is just going to soundcard setting, and selecting the correct soundcard and setting

Easy as that ;)

We now wear our hats on straight? When did this happen? I don't think I got the memo . . geez . . . This being so tough , and so cool thing is tricky at times! Maybe we need a so tough , and so cool, how to thread, hehehe.
