It seems there is a fast building community of VDJ users in our area from the original three, one out in the sticks at Kielder, one in Longbenton and myself in the Blyth area, I'm glad to see there are nearly two dozen users now both north and south of the Tyne, at least my sales pitch must have worked on one or two of you as i can see at least one other user in the Blyth area, lol.

Anyway the point of this post is to find out if any of you want to form a little group specifically to help out other vdj users up here, working out problems on a local basis , ie, equipment breakdowns, loaning gear, cover for double bookings, tips and advice etc and any other ideas you can throw into the pot,

leave a message here or contact me by pm.

hey paul - i was thinking about setting something up for UK users in general. Mainly because the phone support (which most people would like to use) is US based so has its problems in terms of cost and time zones etc.

what do you think??

Thumbs up from me Dan :)

Also Paul's idea is cllo for regional help. But both Ideas are good IMO!!

whatever you want to go with lads i'm happy, just thought it would be good idea to have a regional network set up guys helping each other out in whatever way possible, yep national instead of regional sounds good to me as long as it is ok with the teamers...

Yeah, I'd be happy to help UK guys with any issues, sometimes a phone conversation can sort out a problem a lot quicker than online.

Ok - here is what i am thinking.

1) Find a group of experienced knowledgable UK based users. (call them "techys" for now)
2) Set up a Skype account with an external phone line number. This will then enable the techys to log in when they can, provide live support where possible or answer people message that they may leave. Obviously we won't be a full-time tech support line like in the US but it would be better than nothing.

What are your guys views on this?

I miss my trips up North; I used to go up to see friends in the Leeds/Bradford/Wakefield/Doncaster a lot. Working the best three nights out of the week - coupled with a day job and having a family - tends to limit these things :(

well if there are people interested in forming some sort of self help network (which really doesn't appear to be, going on the interest displayed here) best start by sending in the basics first, ie name, adrress, contact numbers, msn, email etc. just pm me with those details for now and i will update on here on how many have responded over the next couple of days.

will find out if it is a dead duck or not in that time span i would imagine....

I wanna be in your gang... Seriously it's a good idea.

Can I be in your gang Taylor?

Based in Consett with Nightclub residencies in Consett and Stanley. :-)

as long as you lot don't call me uncle Gary.... papa san, lol

ok, dan is the first one to put his details forward and has got the ball rolling, what i propose to do is gather all the information of interested participants then re-distribute them amongst everyone who wants to be on the "UK network".

So if you want to benefit or just offer help to fellow users wherever you live in the UK just drop me a pm with your particulars to be included on the list.
