Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

myself and fellow djs are having problems with the song disturbia by rihanna loads up with a 19 minute song length and dosn't go back to normal until 12 seconds left which makes it almost impossible to mix, tried different copies of song (promo only, Primecuts and even a now cd) and get the same results

If the file name is the same for all the files ie: Rihanna-Disturbia.mp3 etc etc Then the database will assume its the same file even though it maybe different.

Try renaming it to something else then see if you have the same problem. Or find the entry in the database xml and remove it.

Hope that helps.

If it's mp3, check if its a VBR (variable bit rate) format, that is known
to cause length info problems with VDJ.

In any case, open the file in any audio editor and convert it
to another mp3 with highest bitrate setting, to minimize the
loss of information (as you are converting from 'bad' to 'worse').

I doubt this can be caused when playing directly from original
Audio CD or an uncompressed file (wav). In any case, the re-encoding
with good software should do the trick.

This is why we need a list of known bugs of the program. Some people would click on the VBR option while ripping cds to mp3 in Itunes.

Grug, a list of known bugs would only give anyone trying to compete with VDJ ammunition.

Try enabling the max load option in your settings. This way vbr won't matter as Virtual DJ will decompress the entire file into memory.

... but as vbr is not properly supported, vdj begins to read the file, it cant handle the bit rate properly, and dosent load the file fully...
it plays the files 99% of the time, but will show the times as being 4 to 8 times the actual length, and might not show the waveform properly...
VBR is best avoided, as it dosent save you any harddrive space

(Saving harddrive? pmsl. just got an emil bout an external hrddrive for inder £100)

Thanks to you guys it was a combo of problems that we got it figured out. the original was a variable bit rate and when we erased it we didn't remove the xml file, so when we put the newer versions in it reacted the same. erased the xml file (which I never thought of) and vdj created a new one and now it works fine.
Thanks every one for the help.
