96 kHz, 24 support would be great when is that happening

That is more a function of your soundcard. Also you are playing mp3 or wav or lossless files on a mac they are mastered at a lot less bit rate so you would loose quality in the up sampling.

n.i scratch pro has this
and it still sounds better than vdj

What a great observation. Is that your opinion, or do you have research numbers to back that up?

its a observation.
again im not hating on vdj i happen to like the layout more than mixvibes and Traktor Scratch .

i was using Traktor Scratch Pro for good bit with my rme sound card .

side by side with vdj
and i can tell that Traktor Scratch had a much more rich cleaner sound playing the same song .

with mixvibes (which i have) has about the same as Traktor Scratch .

anyway im hoping vdj comes up and beats down mixvibes and Traktor Scratch on the sound front and the scratching front.

as for now. as far as scratching. mixvibes is the king it as more of a natal feel to vinyl .
being that was a turntablist (im going to get be in to it ) i can tell

We have already proven that there is absolutely no sound difference between traktor and VDJ. So, whatever you are hearing is likely imaginary. Have a look at the following thread: http://www.virtualdj.com/forums/107227/General_Discussion/Kind_of_embarrassed.html?search=rta&page=1 for actual proven testing not "I can tell..." B.S.

For everyone else here who has said they hear a difference, I call B.S. Go and read that thread as well. Cyder I wish you'd chime in here as well to let everyone know about those test we ran!

I'm here watching :) soundmans test was accurate and the results as expected. We actually proved that taktor was cheating anyway but artificially altering the gain structure.

Hi friends,

There's still a little buggy in the program.
The visual of the sample from deck b works with deck a. Even the xml says chan="2"

best regards,
John

Could that not be fixed by altering the xml to chan="1"?

Inviato Mon 08 Jun 09 @ 5:00 am
if you are using version 6 of VDJ

"chan=1" now doesnt do anything. without knowing exactly what the old code was i can't supply you with the new one. but roughly speaking you will need to have "deck 1" inside the action phrase.

Yesterday my first video gig with the 6.01.

It was a disaster.
The vids stutter every time I played one.
Also it gave problems with recognizing my DMC2.
I couldn't play along with this configuration.
Therefore I decided the uninstall it and re-installed the 5.1 version that I had before.

For me it wasn't a succes to work with the 6.01.

Maybe you don't have problems at all but you really need to test it very good before you use it.

That was my experience last night

i feel your pain... sorry V6.. did a loop on you...... it is working out pretty amazing for me though....this is the first version that has not given me any issues so far

I would never install and do a gig with any software ,without giving it at least a week of testing on my own first. I carry 2 laptops with me to all gigs one will have a know stable version, the 2nd one I upgrade. I will play with the newest version every night, until I feel confident in it. The laptop with the older version stays the main playback advice, until I am satisfied.

Pucking brilliant. I have said this so many times that I cant' believe people still subject their clients to testing. I don't take hardware to a gig without testing for a week.

No problems here with Video, except for AC-3 but it was fixed by 6.0.1.
Love the new timecode engine and Video automix, if I want to use my old mixer with an external sound card..

Played all night with the latest on Saturday and everything went flawlessly.

We're still waiting on that problem with the pixel aspect ratio not being corrected when using the "keep ratio" checkboxes in videos, but things are looking good!

BTW, does anyone know if there's an action in VDJScript to change the aspect ratio crop/fullscreen options? Beacuse I have many videos with the black bars and many that are natively fullscreen, I have to keep switching back and forth ALL the time and I wanted to put a button on the skin, or have a key to toggle back and forth. Does anyone know if that is possible?

Until VDJ can detect black borders and automatically crop, or save the aspect configuration on a per-video basis, that would be a great help.

Only thing I can say: Yes, you're right. This was a good lesson for me. Don't use it before you test it good.

Lovin' The New Version
I used to have trouble with files that had been bpm lose info whenever I started VDJ, and any changes I made to id3 info, would somehow be lost on about 50 or 100 file each time. I have 24,000 files and since Upgrade that problem has been resolved.....Horray !!! Also love the netsearch, I run a karaoke business so I won't use music groups but looks awesome too. Love the resize tool being built in also.
There is probably a lot of other things I am going to Love as well as I get working more with it...AWESOME JOB AND THANK YOU !!!!
I think VDJ is the best tool out there. The Karaoke tool is a little weak, but somewhat useful for some I Imagine. I personally don't use it in my shows. Maybe some one could Look at CompuHost and get some Ideas for Improvements in that area. But I still Think VDJ is the best Investment I ever Made in My Karaoke Business. I run A High Energy Karaoke Show with a Dance Party Atmosphere with VDJ and I am King in my Area thanks to VDJ.
Thanks Again To All and So Far I Love the New Version

Has anyone else noticed an increase in CPU usage with v6? I had v5 on my older desktop and when I upgraded to 6 the cpu usage wnet from 10% and under to over 50%. Since it was an older computer I thought maybe on my gig laptop it would be better (a lil stronger machine). However, my cpu usage on the laptop is around 50% as well. did I do something wrong while upgrading?

EDIT:
when any video screen is visible on my desktop (video window showing and/or the preview windows) the CPU goes up to 94 to 100%

You might list your computer specs for an honest opinion on this. I haven't noticed any CPU utilization issues on my PC. It sounds like your machine is a bit dated. The MAC side of things, that's a different story.
