I don't have a CLUE why this link doesn't work in the forum, it's a good link. Since I can't DELETE the post I guess we are STUCK with it. If someone can fix the link OR delete the post have at it!

Renee' they moved or removed the link

No they have not, it's a new article on CNN/Time and I'm looking at it. It's a forum issue. (Notice how the last part of the link is not underlined.

uuuhhhhh otay , ur probably right ..... i found it by going to cnn then the time link inside cnn ........

anyway anyone who gives a damn can find it with the info you provided , thanks for the cool link

Yes you can Google: "Why Deejay Schools Are Thriving in a Recession"

Thanks Mark :^)

I think I saw two of the DJ schools graduates last night. If those two are any indication of the caliber of the students they are turning out, we have nothing to worry about......

"People are longing for happiness through being creative"

Deff something that rings true to me!
I enjoy seeing the reaction that music I put together has on people more than ever earning money from it?

Any good DJ I ever met never went to school for it. I'm not worried about a bunch of bored yuppies taking money out of my pockets.

i'm so afraid .......

how afraid r u chuck??

that my own monkey flung his feces at me .........NOT

Hi All.

I think that as the complexity of the equipment we use increases courses in "how it all works" will become more popular. professional training by people who know the kit and software inside out can help any technophobe DJs to spend their time on the creative bit while worrying less about the "how do I get it to do this" part.

bottom line tho is that there is no substitute for time served doing the job.

It reminds me of the ever popular "bartender" schools. You can teach anyone to "mix" a drink but you can't teach anyone to be a good bartender. Just like a bartender there's a LOT more to being a good DJ than "mixing" alone.
