Topic: Timecodes with VDJ6

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

Hello all I was hoping someone could help me out because the instructions that came with virtual vinyl are horrbile or maybe I am just slow. Here is what I have going now and I have zero luck with the timecodes.

Setup consists of:
2 CDJ1000
1 Pioneer DJM500
1 Virtual Vinyl interface box
Virtual DJ 6.0.1 or 5.2 (niether seem to work)

Wires:

1 RCA cable from left CDJ1000 to Input 1 on the interface box
1 RCA cable from right CDJ1000 to Input 2 on interface box
1 RCA cable from output 1 to line 1 on mixer
1 RCA cable from output 2 to line 2 on mixer

When I hit play nothing comes out of the speakers and the decks in virtual DJ seem to spin a million miles a sec and they look they are playing backwards, it does not seem like the timecodes are showing up right. This was setup on a mac. It is my friends setup I am helping with I also have virtual DJ but I run midi controllers with a DJIO, I tried to download a driver for the VV box but it seems to only have downloads for the "software" on numarks website when I go to setup the timecodes in my VDJ 6 it does not have hte virtual vinyl listed as an audio source just an ASIO driver from my DJIO.....any help would be GREATTTLLLYYYY appreciated. I feel horrible because I recommended VDJ to him a while ago to get him off of cds and convert him...he was set on serato and I talked him out of it......

angeldiaz have a look in the time code section of the settings. you should see 2 elipsese's and at 0% on your cd / tt they should be made from dashes. also, have you set the VV box to the right phono / Line level.

on VV you can click advanced view to see this if you cant, try auto configure and if your on vynil you may have to play with the settings to get it reading 100%

in V6 VDJ again in the timecode settings check for the same things as above if its "Near as damit" two elipses play with the dials to see if you can get it 100%
if you can post a screen dump of what you are seeing(time code section with both decks playing) that would be awsome as i can give you some tailor made advice

good look

Thank you for your response. I played around with the settings quite a bit last night, and to eliminate the cd players I tried using a stanton turn table as well. I messed with the timecode settings a bit in VDJ6 but nothing really seemed to work as well. I read you need to get the bottom of the debug to say 100 percent. I was using the VDJ5 timecodes obviously, and when I hooked the turntable up and selected the right timecode (yes i checked the line/phono switch) it would say silent at the bottom. In order for me to get it to 100 percent had to select "other 2000hz" at the bottom of the timecode list. When I did this it showed 100 percent and the software would react to me hitting play but no audio would come out, and if I adjusted the pitch on the turntable I would not see it adjusted on the software as well. I also tried this on both a mac and a pc.

humm
are you using V6 or V6.0.1?
another daft thing ive done a few times setting up (other then not swithing line phono) is put the red and white (or black) into the wrong socket.
ive had it spinning backwards really fast before, ill try and replicate it and will get back to you in a couple of hours (at work at mo)

ok sounds good appreciate your help. Ya I am pretty sure I had it all setup right, the cd players into the inputs and the outputs into the line channels. It is a VV box running VDJ 6.0.1

just reread your origional post, there was a problem wtih V6 detecting the VV interface (mac).

not sure but you might want to install 5.2.1 and make sure VV is picked up and that it picks up the time codes in there first, im not sure if it installs the drivers for the device (its been a while since i installed it) and then install VDJ 6.0.1 ontop.
also you may want to download the PRO time code and burn that to a cd. if the output is too loud coming from the cd it plays havok when trying to config
algthough if youve tried with a TT it should have picked that up as long as VV is the selected sound card

Ok , I have been on this site since it was yellow logo and layout . I uploaded the 6.1 and have everything set up right. My desktop still uses the old version and time codes and works with out any issue .. Now I am using the maya 44 usb and it shows the time code at 100% but it doesnt allow me to use the jog wheel on the dennon mkIII and I see the pitch and understand the settings but im still lost.
