not really, lol. I just got a call from my business partner (previously mentioned in another thread) and they went out tonight. got trashed, and did what they always do......TALK!!! they called me to tell me they might have me a club residency set up (new club opening by end of july according to my very drunk partner) and they guy wants me to "audition" tomorrow for his 25 & Up club. no biggie....EXCEPT I AM STILL GETTING USED TO THIS DIGITAL THING! and I haven't even upgraded to pro yet, and on top of that I have no idea if they discussed money or not (I hope not cause I want to be the one that makes the negotiations on that). I mean granted his projected opening date is set for the end of July, but still. I don't think I am "club ready" so to speak yet. hell I just got back into DJ'ing like 4 months ago after an almost 10 year break and haven't even been "digital" or even messing with digital till about 3 weeks ago or so.

why is it so complicated for people to make a phone call every now and then BEFORE you talk to someone about the other person and what they do? All they had to do was call me and I could have been there in less than 20 min. to talk to the guy in person instead of getting a phone call AFTER THE FACT to hear about what THEY talked about.

oh well, nothing I can really do now but start making a playlist for tomorrow I guess and hope everything goes well, lol.

good luck... and kick your partner up the a$$

it might not be as bad as you think.....
who knows.. this could be a good break...(smile)
keep your fingers crossed.

well I didn't get to audition tonight cause he also owns a resturant (damn good place to eat) and he has Karaoke on sundays (one of his busiest days cause he is one of a handful of places that can serve alcohol on sundays in Georgia) and had someone call out. but I went down there and talked to him. kinda did a little bit of an interview kinda thing. he really likes the fact that I am a "mix" style DJ and know how to beat match and everything else (hard to find around this area apparently) and really wants to hear me play. so I gave him my number and everything to call me when he has time to hear me play.

also, he has NO sound stuff whatsoever in the new place yet and I told him I could help with that if he wanted and he was open to the idea. only issue is.....what do I tell him to get? I looked at the place today, its more of a "lounge" sized place than a club in my personal opinion but its really nice. it looks like it could do about 200 people or so (probably 300 max). 1 bar and a DJ booth off in the corner (floor level). So......what should I tell him to get? me personally, I was looking at maybe a C3USB mixer (I love mine) and some CDJ400's as CD back ups or if someone else comes in to DJ one night kinda deal. that way I can just hook up my laptop and run with my DMC2 (which I am really starting to like and get used to) or CD either one. speakers.....not sure on that either honestly. I mean this system doesn't have to be SUPER BAD ASS like most of your major clubs are simply because its not anywhere close to that big. thats why I was just thinking the C3 and maybe some 400's or something on the "cheaper" priced end for CD players (no need for 1000's here, lol)

so what do you guys suggest for possible setups or even just a sound setup for it. I have a feeling the place will have alot of ambient noise (by that I mean loud ass people) so I want a speaker setup that will definitely drown them out.

P.S. I guess I better go practice some more cause after meeting this guy (he seems a bit eccentric) he will probably call me tomorrow or the next day.
