I am booked for a 40th birthday party. The lady who booked calls and
asks if I do trivia or any games.
I have googled for things like cost of living from
that year.
Anyone do any games or trivia, if so suggestions please.

your on the right lines already, compile a list of questions from her birth year and maybes some short clips form that year to put in clipbank also.
Inviato Tue 30 Jun 09 @ 11:38 am
you might also consider finding facts from the year of her 16th birhtday, her graduation from high school and college if applicable, the year she was married (if that's not a sore spot).

do trivia for each decade of her life would probably be better. and do a points system. like her teens get 1, 20's get 2 and so on, and have like 5 or 10 questions for each one that you ask at random times throughout the night and then at the end of the night you tally the points and see who won.

Here some I have used.
Game Show Musical Chairs\Scavenger Hunt
Contestants sit in 10+ chairs in one line facing the audience.
They have to find one item at a time. Everyone is looking for
the same item at the same time i.e. a Pen, a Flower, a new
Quarter... you get the idea. Tell contestants that the item they are looking for may NOT be theirs. They must find it from someone in the audience.
Each time they find an item they return to sit in any open
chair. They must return each item from whom or where
they found it before they get the next item.
Remove 1-2 chairs each time. The fewer the chairs the
more difficult\rare the item you should ask for.
Here are a few standard things I ask for:
Practice, I told them to bring back another person with a chair to play the game.
A Man's Belt
Lipstick
Business Card (Which I Keep)
Ladies Wearing Men's Shoes \ Men Wearing Ladies Shoes
American Express Card (Not A Visa Or Master card which is more common)
Glasses (They might be smart and bring 2 drinking glasses) HaHaHa
A Man With A Mustache
A Lady With A Tattoo (Ask For Verification) HaHaHa
Ice cube
"Hawaiian Dollar" or an "Alaskan Dollar"
Ringing Cellphone
Something Red
Here are a few unique things I ask for:
Toilet Paper (Not Tissue, I want it from the Bath Room)
Source of Birth Control (I get popped Balloons, a knife...)
Something a lady wears that you don't normally see
I know what you are thinking, and so does everyone
else, but I explain I'm looking for something "G" rated.
I don't tell the audience but here are a few:
Perfume
Hand Lotion
Hair Spray
and yes I will accept a Bra, a Slip...
Funny
Ask for a pocket full of salt or sugar, or a wooden door key.
Roxanne
What you need:
A stereo, a copy of the song "Roxanne" - by the police..... and a LARGE drink for each player.
How to play:
First, divide players into two groups. The first group are the "ROXANNE" group. The second are the "RED LIGHT" group.
The idea of the game is that EVERY time "ROXANNE" is sung then the "ROXANNE" group must take a drink of their beverage . Likewise, every time "RED LIGHT" is sung then the "RED LIGHT" group must also drink.
Sounds easy ....But be warned.... In the 3 minutes and 21 seconds that the song plays...there are 26 "ROXANNE'S" & 25 "RED LIGHTS"

I actually have trivia karaoke videos that came in a karaoke package. It included games and other stuff but some of the trivia asked questions like "What year did some Irish or Scottish town's rugby team win the championship". These were from CDG's package deals I bought overseas obviously. It's all ripped to my karaoke hard drive now. I'm sure there must be some like it that has American content on it. Google it?
Or just buy Trivial Pursuit's 80's edition or the 25 Anniversary Edition. I'd lend you mine but....
