I do a ton of Retro / Flashback night events plus class reunions with music videos.
I am looking for someone to write or improve a plugin that I could simply put the title & artist & the year any where on the screen.
I am willing to make a donation to anyone who can help me out with this.
Currently I am using the text 2d by DJ cel to do the Title and Artist however it has been crashing VDJ lately... SDBJ scroll text is nice but I want to stay on steady at the bottom of the screen.
The year I type on the screen manually with the simple text plugin.
Can anyone help. I have knowledge on writing skin script but not C++ to do plugins.

theres a titler plugin but i don't think you can change the location of the bar. i might be wrong.

That's the first thing I thought of when I read the bubble for this post...Guess you beat me to it, lol.
No, I don't think that the titler can be moved around, I tried dragging it, but it didn't move. It appears in the lower left corner, expanded, then scrunches down after a few seconds of the beginning of the track (very MTV-esque).

I use the titler sometimes. Works well. But it is very big and in the wrong place on the screen. Even with a small font it is too big.
Currently i put white text at the bottom of the screen using text 2d and it looks nice and it doesn't ruin the video watching experience.
