my best option for you will be Numark total control.
100% compatible with vdj and traktor (plug and play).
the only thing i don't like about it is that is made of plastic, that's the one of the different between the total control and the hercules rmx but
like i said total control is just plug and play while the rmx it's gonna give you a hard time.

I'm not sure what Azen meant but the RMX is a damn good piece of gear. I bought an RMX for one of my sons and a good friend who has been a DJ for 30 years (DJ Advise) uses one and he swears by it. The Total Control is a nice "entry level" DJ tool but the RMX is a quite a step up from that. It has it's own built in sound card and it's more durable and substantial feeling because it's made of metal. If you are interested in a Numark product that is more comparable to the Hercules RMX then you may consider the Omni Control. None of what I am saying is meant to discredit the Total Control, it holds it's own and is a good product as well.

I looked at them all. I picked the Vestex VCI-100.
It's sturdy, totally programable, and has touch sensitive pads. Theoritically it should scratch better than a vinyl time-code because of less mass in the mechanism.
Looked at all the units this week at the AC Expo. I'll keep what I have.
Now if Pioneer would donate to me their $10,000 video setup I wouldn't complain a bit.....haaaaaa. That jump drive input is the it-shay. This would of course be in addition to my prime DJ engine... VDJ on dual PCs of course.
I just wouldn't be able to carry this rig over my shoulder with a gig bag like I do now with my VCI-100....hehehehehehe

I've seen a lot of topics saying having problems with the rmx. I was thinking on buying one but since nobody can tell me if the rmx is just plug and play besides a lot of user are having problems with it.

All that and anyone who ever starts in the game with just a computer and controller eventualy you will move twards CD or TT Deks!! Trust me you will!!! The RMX is set up to handle such a transition without having to buy more hardware!! I got rid of mine once and bought it right back!!...lol best investment I made!!

The xponent is not fragile... I have been using one for quite a while on big sound systems and it is a very good controller/soundcard..

The M-Audio Xponent is alot better than the Hercules.. It has more features and you can scratch where hercules is just for blending. The Xponent has a 10 slot sampler and led lights which is very important when you are mixing.. You need to monitor your mixes so it doesnt come in too high on the blend. The Buttons on the X Ponent are more visible because they light up. The RMX looks nice but it doesn't perform better than the X Ponent. You can do alot more on the M-Audio
