i need help from everybody, I'm a Latin DJ and I just play in Latin parties but i have gig this Saturday a Mexican-American party and i was asked to play about 30 or 45 minutes of music for the Americans (30 years old and up). the thing is that i have no clue what music to play.please help me . the only music i play for Americans is for the young, you know, dance, techno,r&b. but for the oldest NOT IDEA.

I would suggest 80s pop. Tone Loc, Salt-n-Pepa, ETC. ETC. Usually works pretty well for that age group....
 
At this point, you can't go wrong with Michael Jackson either.

Wait a minute gentlemen. Mexican-American, as in their ancestors are Mexican, or there will be some Mexicans and some Americans there? If they are Mexican-Americans, you will need some traditional Mexican music. I'm not talking about old stuff, there is plenty of new music that they listen to. PromoOnly has a Tropical Latin series you can get some idea about. Then again, they may have been raised on a whole bunch of different music. Ask the client what he expects, and then have a large variety of music on hand. You never know until you get there, what type of crowd it will be.
