Won't make any difference! When you import songs into iTunes, it adjusts the songs playback volume, but only for playback in iTunes, which is why they all sound a similiar volume within iTunes.

Best thing to do, I've found, is to use a tool like MP3GAIN to normalise all your tracks' volume to a level, before you play it in VDJ. You then get a consistent volume level from VDJ and don't need to fiddle with the gain on the RMX from track to track (which is definitely not practical and very difficult to get right with rmx/vdj).

The asterisk beside a track means that track has Mix:Tempo enabled, so if playing a Smart Automix, VDJ will try to beat-match the upcoming track with the asterisk. You can edit the automix types by right-clicking on the BPM button for a loaded track and changing the Mix Fade, Mix Cut and Mix Tempo settings.

Losing cue points (and BPM info, etc.) is something that's been reported here a few times. No real fix for it at the moment, as far as I know!

get it igma ta mate.

A FEW times???? how about more than that?

igma mate after i add folder and default is 89. when i save changes that is it yes.even clip files will stay at default sound level do i need to do anything else

I set mine to around 92db. Do you do your track analysis & apply track analysis? You may find on some older tracks that a setting of even 90db may cause some tracks to clip, but this is generally a good setting...

think i did mate some of them showed clip at lower levels.goina ta do all my folders this will not affect my setting ie vdj or file infos.still getting clicking sounds through speakers doin my head in.have usual settings in performance to best and latency to 1024 auto can anyting else cause this have grounded also

92/93db is the best volume i found, if some clip still then there not clipping by much

@djstaffy: MP3GAIN won't change your files, so all will be well in VDJ. (MP3GAIN just adds additional tags to mp3s for volume playback levels).

Best to move the rmx performance discussion back to your older thread where you were given options to try.
No point in diverging in this thread...

igma mate when i analyze is it modify track gain.got a few log alerts not sure what they mean if its telling me they are bad mp3s or not

MP3GAIN will only work on MP3 files. Sometimes files are interpreted to be either an MP1 or MP2 file, either because they were incorrectly renamed as MP3 files, or it could be due to corruption within the (genuine) mp3 file, causing mp3gain to trip-up in it's analysis.

Best bet is to either re-rip from the original source if you have it. If you downloaded it, either try downloading again or try converting it if you have any conversion software. (Note, any conversions may result in some loss in quality, depending on what and how you are converting).

grand mate ta.so when i analysed and modify track thats it is it

Yep...that's all you need to do!

great thanks mate.so the files i was telling you about say that its a layer 1 not a layer 3 file so will theese still play in vdj and are they ok files to have on laptop
