I am testing out a new setup that includes the following:
Audio4DJ - Sound Card 4 headphones and output to mains (Driver - 2.0.13.001)
Vestax VCI100 - For controlling VDJ/Cue 6.0.2
HP G60US230 2.0ghz Duo Core
500gb HD 7200rpm - dual partition c: for OS and z: for data/music
3GB RAM
Vista Home Premium
I have the ASIO configuration setup using the Standard Latency profile. VDJ/Cue Sound Setup profile is:
Inputs - None
Outputs: Headphones
Sound Card: Asio Driver
Master - Ch 1 and 2 / Headphones Chan 3 and 4
Audio 4 DJ / Asio Config is set to standard latency profile
Ultra Latency is not checked because I am not using timecoes.
I know all the "rules" disable wifi, bluetooth, internal sound cards, yadda yadda, yadda, ... I have some other "optimization" settings I can do... but these are the same situations I have with the Numark DJIO and dont experience these frequent pops.
The frequency seems somewhat regular - 1 to 2 minutes or so.
I am going to run an extended Automix tonight just to see if I get any lock ups. I have a gig tomorrow night. I would love to walk in with just this tiny setup and use it as the booth is new and rather cramped on space. Soft opening night is tomorrow night. I will probably bring my much larger 10u x 2u rack box... I think I need more testing and stabilization time on this.
Any help or hints would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Chad
Oh and I forgot to add... The CPU seems to be spiking for no reason. I know I dont have anything else running... just seems to spike every once in a while to about 50% or so... the spike in the CPU does not always correlate to a pop or glitch in the sound..

Hey Chad,
try this.
My setup is nearly like yours ;-)
Vista Home Premium
VCI100
ext.Hardisk (esata)
But i can agree with you, the combination Vista (SP2 + Windows Updates) - 6.0.2 - Audio 2/4/8 must have some little problems.
With the above settings, i have no soundproblems, like pops or hicups.
But sometimes for a very short time, the sound crackling.
I have the problem, if you adjust the soundcard settings or perfermonce settings, in most cases VDJ freeze or need a long time to shut down.
I belive there must be a issue inside the 6.0.2, the audio driver or both.
But definitely i can agree the sporadic spike up to 50% and more if nothing other is happend then music is running.
I observe the task manager and see only vista services and vdj on the top.
But the spike is always so short, i can't follow.
Maybe in case of that, VDJ freeze sometimes, but music is still playing.
After a shocksecond or two ;-), all went back to normal.
I will report this and hope the Team or Dev-Team can have an idea ;-).
See you and take care
Haui
PS: I own a Audio2DJ too, and the same effects come through. Before 6.0.2, i havent this problems. ;-)
