Finally got my Denon X-500 mixer in a case with my HC4500.
Got it to crossfade audio, but notice it only does that externally (the VDJ X-fader does not move) . When recording a mix I still have to crossfade in the program itself.
Can it control the internal crossfader of VDJ? Especially for vid's? If so how do I set that up?
Thanks gang.

you have to make sure you connect the 3.5mm wire to the 500 and the 4500 then in the preset mode on the 4500 turn on x-control.

Like I said it crossfades the audio externally with the mixer, but the internal crossfader on screen doesn't move.

You could change the mapping for CROSSFADER to crossfader instead of video_crossfader - However, you will then not be able to headphone monitor from the mixer because VDJ is no-longer outputing sound for the channel that is faded out.
The best way to record with an external mixer is to run a cable from the REC OUT of the mixer to the line in of your computer's built-in sound card, then run 3rd party recording software such as Audacity to record the mix (If using the sound card of the HC4500, you can't record in VDJ from its line in because it does not have one.)
