Topic: Hi, new to Virtual DJ

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

Hello, I'm Stevie Tee and I'm a newbie to Virtual DJ.

Been DJing for over 12 years, the last 6 professionally. Started out on a mix of vinyl and cd, moved fully to cd and now slowly going digital. I've done pretty much every kind of gig you can imagine, pub, club, bar, radio and mobile. Also done a few other bits along the way. Still open to learning and can hopefully lend some advice and opinion on the stuff I do know.

Currently using a Hercules RMX into a xp laptop and trialing using my Korg Nano Pad to throw in samples.

Welcome to the forums Steve,

There are a fair few brits here so you won't feel left out. Make sure you update your profile and tell us a bit more about yourself.

Also, where in the UK are you from?

Roy

welcome to the community Stevie... have you been to the goodie box yet.

I'm from just outside Manchester. Between Oldham and Rochdale if that means anything to anyone.

Goodie box?? Tell me more!!

go to downloads > plugins, there are fx, skins etc that you want to take a look at, if you do video let me know

Hi mate, a warm welcome to the community from sunny Scotland. Hope the snow is not too bad with you just now :)

Ahh, already found that stuff, cheers for the heads up tho. I have been using VDJ properly since the start of Dec, just been too busy to get on here, had 24 gigs to get thru, plus all the holidays stuff with family.

Snow is quite bad here at the mo, made worse by idiots who cant drive in it making it hard for those of us who can.

I spend a lot of time in Scotland as my wife is from Kilmarnock.

Can anyine help me with my search for a skin? Looking for the Pro skin but with the radio style buttons on the loop section rather than a drop down menu.

Yes it does, my godmother lives in Whitworth, just off of the A671... Opposite side of Rochdale to you, but closer than I am right now - Essex!!!

Cheers,

Roy

Welcome Stevie!

Whitworth is about 10 mins away, I have a friend who lives there. He's snowed in at the moment as his street is like a ski slope.

Sounds like Tonacliffe Rd... That gets pretty bad in the snow!!!

Roy

TBH most of the roads up there get pretty bad.

Cheers for the welcomes so far.

Off to have a hunt for a skin that does what I want.....

Welcome Stevie, you say you live just outside Manchester!!!Just heard that the Manchester Utd Vs City Game is postponed due to bad weather conditions. I was waiting long time for it. :'(

Welcome :)

I don't have VDJ in front of me, but I think the default widescreen and hi-res skins replace the dropdown loop box with individual buttons. I'll boot up a VM and double check though.

Edit: Yes, the widescreen and hi-res do away with the loop dropdown box.

Cheers for that. The only problem I have with that is that the widescreen and Hi res cause my cpu load meter to sit at about 50%. Same i I change my screen up to anything above 1024x768. With it set to pro it just tickles into the green occasionally.

Also, if I click from pro to the hi res it doesnt fit, too big for my screen, if i click widescreen it fits, clicking back to hi res then also fits.
